The Scout Badge is the first badge a Boy Scout receives and signifies the beginning into Scouting® life. To earn the Scout badge, candidates must convey knowledge of basic Scouting® principles and show an interest in becoming an active member in a Boy Scout Troop. Specific requirements for the badge include reciting the Pledge of Allegiance; demonstrating the Scout sign, salute and handshake; and communicating an understanding of the Scout Oath, Law, Motto, and Outdoor Code.
This coin honors all those who have earned the Scout Badge. The obverse features the Scout Rank Insignia. The reverse features a space for engraving. Struck in a brass alloy and brushed with an antique bronze finish, this medallion features enamel accents on both sides. Each coin comes packaged with its own header card, which describes the significance of the Scout rank.
